1. About this policy

Smart Australia Developments Pty Ltd (ABN 95 138 740 600) trading as Marketing Together (we, us, our) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information through marketingtogether.com and in providing our marketing services.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where we deal with people in New Zealand or the United Kingdom, we also aim to meet the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ) and the UK GDPR.

2. What we collect

We may collect:

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and business name.
  • Business information: your website URL, industry, marketing goals and monthly marketing budget.
  • Enquiry and booking details: what you tell us when you request a strategy session, quote or call.
  • Client account information: billing details, and access to accounts you share with us (for example, Google Analytics, Search Console, ad accounts, social media or your website CMS).
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site and how you interact with our Website and ads.
  • Communications: emails, call notes and messages you send us.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health information). Please do not send it to us unless we ask for it for a specific purpose.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information when you:

  • fill in a form on the Website, such as our enquiry or strategy session form (our forms are built with Gravity Forms, and submissions are stored on our Website's server and passed to our CRM);
  • call, email or message us, or contact us on social media;
  • become a client or give us access to your accounts;
  • subscribe to our emails; or
  • browse the Website or interact with our ads (through cookies and similar technologies).

We may also collect information from third parties, such as advertising platforms, lead forms on social networks, publicly available sources and referral partners.

You can deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym where practical, but we may not be able to provide a quote or our services if you do.

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and book strategy sessions;
  • prepare proposals and provide, manage and improve our services;
  • manage client accounts, invoicing and payments;
  • send service updates and, with your consent, marketing emails;
  • measure and improve the Website and our advertising; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

5. Who we share it with

We may disclose personal information to:

  • our staff and contractors who need it to deliver our services;
  • service providers that support our business, such as website hosting, email, accounting, payment and project management providers;
  • advertising and analytics platforms, such as Google and Meta;
  • professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants; and
  • government or regulatory bodies where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Cookies, analytics and advertising

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to work properly, understand how visitors use it and measure our advertising. These include:

  • Google Tag Manager, which loads and manages the tracking tools below;
  • Google Analytics, to measure Website traffic and behaviour; and
  • Meta Pixel, to measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram ads and show our ads to people who have visited the Website.

We also use Google Search Console to see how the Website performs in Google search. It reports aggregated search data and does not place cookies on your device.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Google and Meta account settings. Some parts of the Website may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

7. Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using it or by emailing us.

8. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, including Google and Meta, store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Our CRM, where client records are kept, is hosted in Australia. When we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it in line with the APPs.

9. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include access controls, secure passwords and reputable cloud providers. Client records are kept in our private CRM, and account logins you share with us are stored securely and used only for your services. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for business or legal purposes, then securely destroy or de-identify it.

No method of transmitting data over the internet is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

10. Access and correction

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why. If you are in the UK, you may also have rights to erasure, restriction, objection and data portability.
